March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. While you might think of colon cancer as something that only affects older adults, new research shows that adults under the age of 50 are now more affected than ever. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance notes that 1 in 9 cases of colon cancer is now diagnosed in those under 50 years of age. The American Cancer Society currently recommends screening in adults over the age of 45. Talk to your healthcare provider about when you should start screening.
